Job Summary

The Department of Psychological Science at the University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer position (with benefits) beginning August 1, 2026. Teaching responsibilities will be on the Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses. Successful applicants will be able to teach courses in PSYC 1002 (Introduction to Leading), PSYC 4000 (Psychology of Leading), Industrial Organizational Psychology, and Group Dynamics, as well as lower division psychology courses and upper-division-level courses in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching a 4/4 load (undergraduate), including a combination of PSYC 1002 (Introduction to Leading), PSYC 4000 (Psychology of Leading), Industrial Organizational Psychology, Group Dynamics, as well as lower-division psychology courses and upper-division-level courses in their area of expertise.
  • Hold office hours and attend department meetings.
  • Service Expectations include advising students pursuing the leadership minor, promoting the minor at campus events, and working with professional advisors across the Gainesville and Dahlonega Campus to raise awareness and increase the number of students pursuing the minor.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in psychology or a related field with at least 18 hours of graduate level psychology courses at the time of appointment is required; a Ph.D. or other related terminal degree and college teaching experience are preferred.
  • Applicants should demonstrate experience in leadership roles and mentoring leaders. Applicants should demonstrate a history of teaching leadership and leadership-related coursework and should highlight relevant experiences.
