Job Summary
This is a ten-month grant-funded position for the 2026-27 academic year (August 2026 - May 2027), responsible for delivering college-level courses for undergraduate nursing students.
Responsibilities
Major Duties:
Teaches undergraduate courses appropriate to his/her appointment and credentialing.
Plans and conducts classes in a manner conducive to creating an effective learning environment which helps students achieve the educational outcomes set by the college.
Compiles, administers and evaluates examinations and assignments appropriate to the educational outcomes of the college. These evaluations should be based exclusively on academic performance.
Serve as academic advisor to students in the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer's discipline
Other Responsibilities
Maintains the required number of office hours each week.
Prompt and regular in performing job responsibilities.
Available to teach classes at night and off-campus.
Attends graduation.
Maintains a constructive attitude with students and co-workers.
Serves on faculty committees at the department, college or system level as elected by the faculty or appointed by the administration.
Supports student activities by serving as a club advisor and/or by attendance at student functions.
Serves the college and community by providing expertise in his/her field to colleagues, schools, businesses and other organizations.
Exhibits professional growth and development.
Required Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing or Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing and documentation of progress toward an earned graduate degree in nursing with at least two years' experience in the area of responsibility.
Active Registered Nurse License.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years of recent clinical nursing experience in the areas of Medical/Surgical.
Previous teaching experience in a nursing program.
Doctorate in an appropriate discipline to support a nursing curriculum.
Required Documents to Attach
Strong written verbal, analytic, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of the field of nursing and health sciences.
Knowledge of program accreditation requirements.
Knowledge of college program requirements.
Knowledge of classroom practices, teaching methodologies, assessment systems, and educational technology.
Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs.
Skill in decision making and problem solving.
