Position Description

Chaffey College is seeking applicants for the adjunct faculty pool in the Journalism Department. All applicants are expected to meet the California State Community College Minimum Qualifications for Journalism instructors. Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee employment or an interview.

NOTE: This position requires in-person instruction, which could occur on campus or as a part of the Rising Scholars Program at the California Institution for Men in Chino.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Master's in journalism or communication with a specialization in journalism; OR
• Bachelor's in either of the above; AND Master's in English, history, communication, literature, composition, comparative literature, any social science, business, business administration, marketing, graphics or photography; OR
• A valid lifetime credential that authorizes service as a journalism instructor in a California Community College; OR
• The equivalent; AND
• Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.
