Position OverviewKU recently announced funding by a special grant from the Educating Character Initiative at Wake Forest University, “Character Development at the University of Kansas: The IRISE Virtues Initiative.” This project advances and expands IRISE Culture Charter and is an ongoing effort to articulate and instill the values and virtues of the KU community and how its members engage with one another.

Job Description100% - Assist with Developing Institutional Impact by Infusing KU IRISE Virtues into Environment at KU and Expand Opportunities to Explore Character Building in Undergraduate Curricular and Co-curricular Activities
- Attend student organization and staff workshops to be held during Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 (2 workshops per semester).
- Assist student organizations and Greek life organizations with IRISE virtues programming.
- Assist in organizing and judging competitions.
- Assist in creating and maintaining an IRISE Virtues Project website.
- Maintain an IRISE Virtues social media presence.
- Manage an IRISE Virtues poster/banner presence.
- Ability to work collaboratively as demonstrated by prior work experience or reference check.
- Interest in the topics of character development and values formation as evidenced in cover letter.
- Completed course work or other background in ethics, character development, or values formation, as evidenced by application materials.
- Previous work on an IRISE project.
- This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
- This position requires meeting with the project supervisor periodically to assess work progress.
