This position is responsible for assisting with the evaluation and control of hazardous or unsafe environmental, health, and safety conditions at the University, utilizing the knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and University policies.

Anticipated Salary Range
Starting salary to begin at $65,000, commensurate with education and experience

Key Responsibilities
This position is responsible for assisting with the evaluation and control of hazardous or unsafe environmental, health, and safety conditions at the University, utilizing the knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and University policies.
As part of the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team, you will specifically:
- Support the evaluation and control of indoor air quality and mold issues and concerns. This will involve conducting surveys and inspections of work areas and sites and recommending corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Program Manager and Facilities staff to ensure timely response to stakeholder IAQ and mold issues and concerns.
- Assist in the implementation of EHS programs by evaluating work environments to identify potential health and safety risks and hazards. This will include working with EHS team members to develop effective corrective actions and making recommendations to Facilities staff and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and University requirements.
- Operate, manage and ensure sampling equipment is maintained and serviceable.
- Crosstrain and assist with other industrial hygiene and occupational safety tasks as required.
- Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience, (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
- Ability to obtain the Mold Assessor and Remediation licenses within 120 days of effective date.
- Working knowledge of EHS regulations, specifically indoor air quality requirements.
- Experience building a positive safety culture.
- Strong communication and customer-service skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external customers.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions under pressure and maintain operational continuity during emergencies or adverse conditions.
