Job Description
Classification Title:
HPWT MAINTENANCE GENERALIST II
Classification Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and two to four years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Job Description:
Maintain and repair existing wiring and electrical circuits. Install wiring and fixtures. Locate correct power failures and short circuits.
Repair and/or replace plumbing systems or the components thereof as assigned. Repair or replace worn or damaged faucets, flush valves, urinals and water closets.
Performs skills work in repair to furniture, cabinets, windows, screens, floors, ceiling, stairs, structures, equipment and all related work. Install ceiling tiles and grid. Install flooring (vinyl sheeting and tile), wall base, chair rails, molding around doors, windows, crown molding, etc.
Performs renovation work and repairs to existing structures (installing or relocating doors, windows, walls, flooring, etc.). Install and repair doors, mortise locks, hinges, exit devices, door closures (L.C.N. disable door systems), door vents, glass door panels, etc.), perform maintenance as needed to the interior and exterior walls and floors with the proper masonry materials. Repair, replace and install ceramic tile.
Perform preventive inspections on but not limited to all buildings, equipment, entrance doors, etc. to included monthly generated preventive maintenance reports.
Clean halls, offices, shops, restrooms, conference rooms, lab, elevators, stairwells, etc. Sweep, dust, dust mop, wet mop, spot mop, employ and clean waste and recycle bins, clean water fountains, door matting, and spot wash and clean walls, doors and partitions.
Class E Driver's License is required.
Criminal background check and Physical examination required.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:
5:00AM to 1:30PM (Monday through Friday). Workdays and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage and/or departmental needs. Some overtime may be required.
Total hours per week is 40.
Management retains the right and discretion to modify schedules, building assignments, shifts and/or days for operational purposes.
Position is considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.
Expected Salary:
$18.50 Hourly based on experience
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and two to four years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred:
Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for multiple trades, or a high school diploma and four (4) years of appropriate experience.
Working knowledge of computers and asset management systems.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of the skilled building trades, mechanical, and repair work, safety procedures and requirements in maintenance and repair work.
Skilled in hand tools and equipment.
Ability to perform a variety of skilled trade functions, read blueprints and schematic drawings, follow verbal and written instruction, ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments, and work cooperatively in a team environment.
