General Job Summary

The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the recruitment, coaching, and well - being of the women’s basketball program and student athletes. The head coach also facilitates and supports the holistic needs of the students in the women’s basketball program, including academic support and overall physical and emotional well-being of the students.

The schedule for this position will be Monday-Friday with weekends needed due to recruiting, practice and games.

The compensation is determined based on experience and will fall within the range of $66,521 to $96,381.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruit, develop and retain student-athletes compatible with Kirkwood Community College’s mission and the specific goals of the women’s basketball program.
  • Hire, supervise, evaluate all assistant coaches in their sport related responsibilities.
  • Oversee athletic, academic and social development of basketball athletes.
  • Understand and comply with all NJCAA and ICCAC rules, regulations and bylaws.
  • Manage scheduling, team travel, fundraising, scholarship and operating budgets within the guidelines established by the Athletic Director.
  • Maintain all required institutional, ICCAC and NJCAA records for all women’s basketball student-athletes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate basketball camps.
  • Participate in all Athletic Department meetings and fundraising events.
  • Assist with OSA for home events.
  • Coordinate Fueling Station for Student-Athletes
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Activities With/Without Reasonable Accommodation

Position involves working in a sporting event setting. Occasional (10-33%) sitting, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) standing, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Must have flexible hours to meet practice, game, and recruiting schedule.

Licenses, Certifications, Or Registrations Required

This position requires a valid driver's license and participation in continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring. Your driving record will be verified initially and monitored on an ongoing basis as a condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications, Licenses, Certifications, Or Registrations

  • Master's Degree Preferred

3-5 years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
