Job Description: This position will be responsible for supporting the work of the Study Abroad Office. It is a 20 hour per week assistantship.
Primary Duties· Monitor the study abroad inbox and answer student inquiries· Serve as a study abroad advisor for general exploratory advising appointments with students during walk-ins.
- Research academic options at various partner schools to present to UNCG faculty and departments.
- Assisting with the planning and facilitation of study abroad workshops and orientations. Secondary Duties· Assist with recruitment tables, displays, and classroom or virtual presentations· Represent GEO at other campus events.
- General office work- filing, answering phones etc.
- Data entry for incoming and outgoing students into GEO database and Banner (when applicable)
To be eligible for appointments as a graduate assistant, you must:
- Maintain academic good standing at all times (3.0).
- Be enrolled full-time, which is generally a minimum of 9 credits.
- Make satisfactory progress toward your degree as defined by your academic program and the Graduate School.
- Meet the requirements to be eligible for employment in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with design platforms like Canva or Adobe Illustrator/Express
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Experience studying abroad
