Job Summary
Key responsibilities for this position include the following:
- 45% - Assist with organizing and running the SPARK Mentoring Program.
- 30% - Assist with the SPARK Program Director in conducting the research in the facilitation of the potential impact of the SPARK Program with our college students, participating youth and the community (Ex: IRB, transcribing and analyzing data from the research collected from the SPARK Program).
- 10% - Assist the SPARK Director in editing academic papers and preparing for and presenting at conferences, in the community, to local businesses and potential stakeholders about our research data.
- 15% - Develop and produce audio/visual promotional materials for our website and a presentation at our banquet. Update our website weekly.
To be considered for a graduate assistantship at the University of West Georgia (UWG), students must meet the following criteria:
- Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG. Please note: Students admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions.
- Hold a Bachelor¿s degree from an accredited institution.
- Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
- Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
- Must be interested in investigating trauma related wounds in youth and bringing healing to them.

- Good skills in technology programs such as PowerPoint, Movie Making programs, and Web Development/Designing.
- General knowledge of photography
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Psychology, Sociology or Education
- A monthly stipend of $1000.00 per month
- A tuition waiver, reducing your graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.
