What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dish Room Worker position at Inside Higher Ed?
St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college, is seeking a hard-working and dependable Dish Room Worker to join our team at Ruth's Marketplace. This role is primarily responsible for washing, rinsing, and sanitizing china, flatware, pots, pans, and utensils as part of a team environment. Additional responsibilities include restocking clean dishware, cleaning the dish room, and routine cleaning of equipment.
The hours are generally Monday - Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. This is a year-round position that works 10 months in the Ruth’s Marketplace dish room and 2 months supporting front-of-house operations in Ruth’s Marketplace, assisting with summer events.

Required Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in an institutional or retail food service industry
- Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations.
- Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy, damp, warm, fast-paced environment.
