Job Description
Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for the Communications Intern seasonal position. The successful candidate will assist in the social media, content, and game day needs of assigned varsity sports. This position will serve as the primary contact for select sports and assist with the day-to-day operations of the athletic communications office.
Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 38 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-D1).
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Background Check - Criminal, Education

Job Description
Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for the Communications Intern seasonal position. The successful candidate will assist in the social media, content, and game day needs of assigned varsity sports. This position will serve as the primary contact for select sports and assist with the day-to-day operations of the athletic communications office.

Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with content and social media efforts for position's primary and secondary sport assignments.
- Assist with game day coverage of position's primary and secondary sport assignments including but not limited to managing social accounts, the keeping of statistics, and the posting of pre, post, and in-game content.
- Write press releases to appear on BrownBears.com.
- Maintain daily internal and external communications for primary sport assignments.
- Perform additional duties and assist with other projects as assigned.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Interest in collegiate athletics, athletic administration, or communications and social media.
- Familiarity with social platforms, specifically Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere.
- Familiarity with DSLR cameras, Canon preferred.
- Strong understanding of a wide range of sports, their rules and statistics.
- Strong writing skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask.
