This position directs the College’s processes and activities related to its intercollegiate athletics program and campus recreation (e.g., Weight Room, Intramurals, eSports, Wellness Classes). Responsibilities include creating, receiving, and reviewing certain Protected Health Information (PHI). Under the HIPAA Privacy Rule, this position must use and/or disclose PHI only as permitted or required, use all reasonable efforts to maintain the security of the PHI, and prevent the unauthorized use and/or disclosure of the PHI. This role must also maintain PHI as confidential and not divulge such information to any unauthorized third party for which PHI was not intended.

What You’ll Do

Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
- Provides direct leadership and management of coaches and staff ensuring compliance with NJCAA, FCSAA, Conference and College policies and procedures. Manages team and departmental budgets; coordinates team transportation and purchasing of equipment and supplies and drafts policies/procedures for the department.
- Assists in the advisement of student athletes in the areas of enrollment, eligibility, academic progress, and transfer. Collaborates with students and academic services to monitor and promote the academic advancement of student athletes. Works with coaches and staff in the Offices of Admissions and Records and Career and Academic Planning to implement recruitment and retention strategies to support the program. Works with academic advisors to develop course schedules for student athletes and monitors the academic progress of student athletes. Prepares and submits athletic eligibility reports and academic honors.
- Coordinates all media relations for athletics, including oversight of athletics website. Serves as official spokesperson for public relations. Plans and directs specific fund-raising efforts, including development of corporate sponsorships and trade agreements and work in collaboration with the TSC Foundation staff for fundraising campaigns. Coordinates events and community service activities for department.
- Plans, schedules, and monitors the use of all athletic facilities by the intercollegiate athletics department and community organizations. Assists coaches in scheduling and maintains a master schedule of all athletic-related events. Coordinates and manages game day operations for home athletic events, including media relations, security, ticket sales, and concessions. Develops plans for facility improvements to meet the needs of the athletic program.
- Works with appropriate College officials on accreditation compliance, including the development of Athletics mission statement, goals, outcomes, and assessments. Provides analysis and continual assessment of athletics operations and works closely with coaches, the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA), and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) to ensure the College is in compliance with Title IX, the Florida Educational Equity Act, and FERPA. Communicates NJCAA by-law changes and those from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) that impact two-year institutions to head coaches and admissions staff. Completes any required institutional, state, and federal reports relating to athletic participation. Actively participates in Panhandle Conference, FCSAA, and NJCAA meetings, as required annually and serves on the TSC Eagle Boosters Board of Directors. Represents the College on the Tallahassee Sports Council and actively participates in Panhandle Conference, FCSAA, and NJCAA meetings, as required annually.
- Plans and coordinates campus recreation programs that include management of the Weight Room, student gym, intramurals, eSports room, and wellness classes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Six (6) years of experience in the administration of an athletic program, one (1) year of which must have been at the supervisory level; or a combination of education and/or experience.
- A master’s degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience but may not replace the required one (1) year of supervisory experience.
