The Director builds positive working relationships with the school districts, initiates, promotes and maintains excellence, and manages the delivery of support services.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the College Credit Plus program for Ohio students in grades 7-12 taking classes on campus, online and/or at their high school/career center.
- Provide leadership for Ohio high school students enrolled in an approved industry recognized credential (IRC) that meets the Alternative Credential Program for the Ohio high school diploma option.
- Facilitate the management for the programs through coordinated collaborations with Academic Affairs, Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, Workforce Development and Community Programming, and Finance and Administrative Services, that include: Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), outreach, recruitment, application and registration services, placement testing services, course requests, scheduling, and registration services, advising, and faculty credentialing.
- Coordinate student orientation.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Public Relations to develop marketing strategies.
- Maintain handbooks and web-based access to handbooks for faculty, students, parents, school counselors, and College Credit Plus partners.
- Provide relative information to Academic Affairs for the Faculty Handbook.
- Ensure that the College is in good standing with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, Ohio Department of Higher Education, and Higher
- Learning Commission state/federal standards and policies relative to the College Credit Plus (CCP).
- Build and nurture relationships with administrators, counselors, and teachers from partner schools and prospective partner schools; parents/guardians; other College units; and the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and Ohio Department of Higher Education.
- Maintain a communication plan and master calendar for students, parents, and school counselors relative to the College.
- Coordinate and direct the Annual Summit for Superintendents, Principles, and School Counselors.
- Develop a College Credit Plus Advisory Committee to support department excellence.
- Engage in College institutional effectiveness via Administrative Unit Evaluation and strategic planning.
- Supervise, evaluate, and develop department staff.
- Manage the department budget to meet prioritized department needs and compliance.
- Serve as an active member of institutional meetings and within Shared Governance as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Three years of experience in high school, higher education, or related settings;
- Iitiative driven and have knowledge of K-12 and higher education practices and procedures;
- Experience in budget development and management;
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with multiple constituents;
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to facilitate and model an excellent customer service orientation;
- Self-motivating;
- Strong organizational and time management skills and detail-oriented;
- Ability to plan and execute on a large scale;
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications and integrated software systems.
- Experience in directing Ohio's College Credit Plus;
- Working knowledge of Ellucian/Banner;
- Supervisory experience.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree and related experience in education, or business.
- Master's Degree in related field.
