What You’ll Do
The Deputy Director works within the Office of Prevention Services. The position will serve in the assigned region Northwest (Tallahassee). This position requires a flexible work schedule due to some weekend and after-hours (evening) work.
Day-to-day, You’ll Be Responsible For
- Supervise staff, evaluating staff, plan, and direct staff’s work and build a reflective team, to continuously improve provider performance through prudent hiring, effective coaching, mentoring, and support, as needed.
- Coordinates and communicates with Office of Prevention Services management and stakeholders on concerns related to delinquency prevention; assists, when necessary, in carrying out duties and responsibilities of other Prevention Services activities
- Educates community stakeholders on delinquency prevention programming, research and polices; planning, coordination and participation in community outreach and engagement activities; coordinates and/or facilitates.
- Prevention Services youth and community events; develops and maintains effective partnerships and affiliations with local community organizations.
- Performs routine visits to contracted Prevention programs. Provides technical assistance as needed to contracted providers, to ensure compliance with contracted terms and conditions. Provides written summary of input and feedback with contracted providers.
- The position conducts routine observations through on-site visits; assists in the provision of technical assistance; in-service training and guidance on contractual issues for Prevention services. The position will review provider deficiencies, assists in resolving deficiencies and resolve program related incidents.
- Drafts quarterly and monthly reports and submit on a timely basis; evaluates data from outcome measures and requirements and make recommend to management; conduct annual property inventory.
We’re seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
