Job Description:
The University of Florida's Center for Precollegiate Education and Training (CPET) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to serve as residential counselors for our summer STEM and STEAM programs
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Pre-Program Preparation
The specific programs this job posting is hiring for are the Student Science Training Program, Research Explorations, Research Immersion in Science and Engineering, Jump Start Biology, and Gator Labs programs. Counselor contracts and contract lengths will be based on the program(s) and will be communicated during interviews and in the counselor contract. Counselors may be hired for multiple programs, but NOT if programs share dates. All applicants must be able to commit to living in residence halls with the program participants, including overnight. All programs will provide set time off, specific to each program which will be communicated during interviews and in the counselor contract.
Please read the program descriptions on the CPET website (cpet.ufl.edu) for specific program dates.
For residential programs, UF CPET counselors are provided with housing (with specific programs, locations TBD).
Expected Salary:
$15/hour
Required Qualifications:
Must complete a DCF background check and fingerprinting prior to hiring
Preferred:

- Complete other in-office tasks (2-3 weeks prior to programs)
- Plan and lead social activities for program participants
- Supervise participants during program activities
- Lead students on campus for activities
- Organize materials for laboratory experiments
- Assist with logistics, such as moving materials between locations
- Mentor program participants
- Reside with students in the residence halls overnight during residential programs
- Create a safe and welcoming residential environment for all program participants
- Respond to unexpected program needs while on duty
