HIRING RANGE: $60,049 - $67,555 annually

Position Summary

The Career Training Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of non-credit short-term career training and workforce development programs that respond to regional labor market needs and support the College’s workforce mission. The position provides day-to-day leadership for assigned training initiatives, including program planning, scheduling, instructor coordination, marketing collaboration, employer and community partnership development, budget monitoring, outcomes tracking, and operational support.

The Career Training Coordinator works collaboratively with employers, workforce boards, community agencies, instructors, and internal college departments to identify training needs, support program growth, and ensure high-quality delivery of career-focused offerings. The role is accountable for maintaining accurate records, monitoring program performance, supporting compliance with college procedures and applicable funding requirements, and recommending improvements based on data, stakeholder feedback, and emerging workforce trends. Evening and/or weekend hours and local travel are required commensurate with program demand.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, development, scheduling, delivery, and continuous improvement of non-credit short-term career training and workforce development programs aligned with district, employer, and community needs.
  • Research labor market trends, industry demand, stakeholder feedback, and workforce priorities to recommend new or revised training offerings, credentials, and program pathways.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, workforce boards, community agencies, instructors, and campus partners to identify training opportunities, strengthen partnerships, and support enrollment and job-connected outcomes.
  • Recruit, onboard, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate instructors and consultants for assigned programs; provide performance feedback, address concerns, and support instructional quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate on development of program proposals, class structures, timelines, pricing, and resource needs for new and existing short-term career training initiatives.
  • Coordinate operational logistics for assigned programs, including schedules, rooms, materials, technology, instructor assignments, class changes, and start-up readiness.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry and maintenance of class, instructor, and participant information in college systems and related program records.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing and outreach staff to support promotion of assigned programs through targeted strategies, advertising content, digital communications, flyers, brochures, and other outreach efforts.
  • Monitor program activity, participation, customer feedback, and outcomes data to assess effectiveness, support continuous improvement, and prepare regular and ad hoc reports.
  • Assist with budget development, revenue and expenditure tracking, forecasting, purchasing, and fiscal monitoring for assigned training areas in accordance with college procedures.
  • Support grant-funded and special workforce initiatives as assigned by coordinating documentation, deliverables, reporting, and adherence to applicable guidelines and timelines.
  • Serve as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders to resolve operational issues, maintain responsiveness to business and community needs, and support a high standard of customer service.
  • Participate in departmental planning, college initiatives, advisory groups, and workforce-related committees as assigned.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Workforce Development, Business, Marketing, Training and Development, or related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in workforce training, continuing education, employer training, adult learning, program coordination, or related field.
  • Knowledge of training and development, adult learning principles, curriculum coordination, and short-term career training program operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, timelines, instructors, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Good platform and instructional skills.
  • Experience using technology and data systems to support scheduling, reporting, communication, and program administration.
  • Evening and/or weekends commensurate with demand.
  • Ability to work well with clients and business customers; must be entrepreneurial, bottom-line performance driven, customer focused, and learner centered; able to “sell” and negotiate to achieve mutual goals.
  • Access to transportation for local travel required.
  • Strong computers skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in short-term career training, contract training, workforce development, continuing education, or employer-aligned program delivery.
  • Experience working with business and industry partners, workforce boards, or community agencies.
  • Experience with budget tracking, enrollment reporting, or grant-supported programming.
  • Experience in marketing or promotion of workforce or continuing education programs.
  • English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
  • Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Normal office physical demands.
  • Ability to travel between campus locations and to and from community events.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.
