Job Duties
The ECU, College of Nursing continuously strives to create a learning environment and workplace culture that provides opportunity, support, and consideration for all students, employees, alumni, and other stakeholders. The ECU, College of Nursing is currently seeking applications for a full-time 12-month faculty member to teach graduate students in Nurse Anesthesia. Teaching will include courses in both the clinical and didactic portions of the program and mentor nurse anesthesia students in scholarly projects. Duties also include academic advising, serving as a member of ECU CON Faculty Organization and Graduate Faculty Organization, and other Committees/Task Forces as appropriate with the College of Nursing.
Contingent upon availability of funds.
Minimum Education/Experience
A valid non-restricted North Carolina registered nurse (RN) license. Current certification as an APRN as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is required upon employment.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

- Graduate degree in nursing is required (MSN).
- Demonstrated experience, competency, and interest in both didactic and clinical education of nurse anesthetists.
- Have at least three years of experience as a CRNA.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- DNP or PhD with a graduate degree in nursing is required within three years of hire.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education
- A doctoral degree (PhD Nursing) or a clinical doctoral degree (DNP).
- Clinical and academic teaching experience is preferred.
- Experience precepting SRNAs in a Medical Center, and computer skills sufficient to meet teaching, administrative, and simulation job responsibilities.
