What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Coordinator and Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing position at Inside Higher Ed?
Valparaiso University College of Nursing and Health Professions invites applications for its Assistant Professor of Nursing and Clinical Coordinator faculty position. This position is a full time, non-tenure track, 12-month appointment, beginning June 2026. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, developing and maintaining long-term relationships with educational partners at various clinical agencies, facilitating contract approval, placement of undergraduate nursing students in clinical or community experience, the hiring and orientating clinical instructors, and collaborating with the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Nursing. The successful candidate for the position will hold a masters degree in nursing; hold a current license in the state of IN; have knowledge of the nursing profession, academic programs and the nature of clinical experiences for nursing students; knowledge of legal and ethical issues surrounding professional education in nursing, and have at least 5 years experience working as a professional nurse in an acute care setting.
Candidates should be interested in working at a university engaged in issues in Christian higher education in the Lutheran tradition. The College of Nursing and Health Professions has programs in nursing (BSN and DNP), exercise science (BSXS), health science (BSHS), healthcare leadership (BSHL), healthcare administration (MHCA), public health (BSPH and MPH), physician assistant studies (MSPA), and occupational therapy (DrOT, OTD).
