The intent of Be Well Care Well is to improve the well-being of early childhood educators, a workforce experiencing high rates of stress and poor health, through delivery of a comprehensive well-being program designed specifically for the early childhood workforce.
Well-Being Coaches are a helper for the journey, support the site and well-being committee in achieving goals, and connect the site with resources to achieve well-being goals. Coaches work to build social connections and facilitate peer support (the strongest buffer to stress) among the team through friendly challenges (ex. water challenge, step challenge, etc.) and well-being activities that embed opportunities to build and strengthen relationships among peers.
This is a field-based position serving child care programs in the counties of Florence, Clarendon, Williamsburg, Marion, and Darlington, SC (Pee Dee Area). Be Well Care Well Coaches recruit and serve child care programs according to the Be Well Care Well model. Coaches deliver training, create partnerships with state organizations and local businesses on behalf of child care programs, and develop creative strategies to support child care providers in achievement of well-being goals.
Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience:
Recruit and enroll child care programs to participate in the Be Well Care Well program. Maintain relationships with enrolled child care programs and provide coaching, training and referrals to support implementation of well-being goals through regular on-site visits.

Job Related Minimum Required Education And Experience:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
- Coaches must be able to build effective relationships with diverse populations and communicate successfully, both orally and in writing.
- Candidate will work independently, must maintain accountability records, and contribute to project team efforts.
- Knowledge of principles, practices and theories of public health, health promotion and behavior change.
- Ability to work with a computer using Office software and knowledge of techniques involved in the preparation and presentation of educational visual aids, displays and exhibits.
- Ability to design and deliver presentations with sensitivity to learner characteristics.
- Ability to generate ideas and confront barriers with creativity and flexibility.
- Demonstrated skills in MS Office Suite and Google Docs. Social Media experience a plus.
