General Job Summary
The Instructional Lab Assistant will assist faculty with teaching students in the lab environment. This position will leverage their professional level technical knowledge and expertise to assist faculty with answering student questions, demonstrating skills, and working through hands-on projects and activities.
The Typical Schedule For This Position Will Be Monday Through Thursday With Flexibility From 8 Am To 3 Pm.UNIVERSAL CORE COMPETENCIES
Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.

- Be available for short-term or long-term assistance on an on-call basis, depending on instructional needs
- Provide advance notice to AMT faculty/staff about changes to availability to support scheduling needs

Minimum Qualifications
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations, safety standards, and best practices in aircraft maintenance
- Technical knowledge and hands-on experience performing aviation maintenance tasks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a lab and classroom environment
- Commitment to supporting student success and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Prior teaching, training, or mentorship experience
- Experience working in a Part 147 or FAA-regulated maintenance environment
- Familiarity with general aviation and/or turbine aircraft systems
