Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Teacher Leadership in the Department of Educational Leadership, with a preferred start date of August 2026. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Teach graduate courses in Teacher Leadership and Educational Leadership.
  • Scholarship/Research - Engage in a variety of scholarly activities and research commensurate with the department, college, and university tenure and promotion guidelines and workload.
  • Professional Service - Provide service to the department, college, university, and the profession commensurate with rank and workload.

Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Teacher Leadership, Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.
  • Experience as a P-12 teacher leader (academic/instructional coach, department chair, assistant principal, principal, district roles).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Evidence of scholarship/creative activities.
  • Evidence of collaborative and collegial engagement with colleagues and students.
  • Leadership experiences such as dealing with budgets, hiring, retention, supervision, instructional leadership, etc.
  • Experience teaching/designing graduate courses in online or hybrid formats within higher education.
  • Experience serving on or chairing dissertation and thesis committees.
  • Experience as a program coordinator.
  • Strong knowledge of teacher and educational leadership disciplines.
  • Evidence of ability to conduct research.
