Our campus is located at 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30118.

Faculty and staff members are expected to be physically present on campus as needed to support the in-person educational experience and on-campus vitality at the University of West Georgia. Depending upon teaching assignments and student demand, this could include the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.

Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Annual Giving is a member of an ambitious development team responsible for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding annual, leadership and major gifts. Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving the Assistant Director of Annual Giving is responsible for assisting in developing, planning and implementing a comprehensive Annual Giving program that will increase donor engagement and financial support to University of West Georgia and UWG Athletics. This position will play a vital role in growing the philanthropic revenue for UWG Foundation and UWG Athletic Foundation to support the highest level of student success. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, entrepreneurial, have excellent project management skills and willing to take ownership of critical duties.

Responsibilities

  • Annual Giving Campaign Execution & Strategy Execute Annual Giving Campaigns Execute Annual Giving Campaigns: Manage the implementation of annual giving campaigns across multiple channels including email, digital appeals, crowdfunding, social media and direct mail. Work with the Director of Annual Giving to implement campaign strategies that increase donor participation, retention, and recurring giving. Annual Giving Campaigns & Appeals: In partnership with the Director of Annual Giving, coordinate the execution of multi-channel annual giving campaigns throughout the fiscal year. Support campaign development through digital appeals, crowdfunding initiatives, giving forms, and integrated marketing efforts. Project Management: Manage project timelines and campaign calendars to ensure annual giving initiatives are executed effectively and on schedule.
  • Digital Fundraising Initiatives & Engagement Activities Coordinate Giving Day and Digital Fundraising Initiatives: Assist in planning and executing the university's Giving Day `A Day to Give West and other digital fundraising campaigns including but not limited to `A Day Ambassador. Responsibilities include coordinating campus partners, managing project timelines, and supporting promotional outreach. This includes balloon delivery and volunteer coordination for both internal and external constituents. Giving Day & Digital Fundraising Initiatives: Assist in the planning and execution of A Day to Give West and related digital fundraising campaigns. Responsibilities include coordinating campus partners, assisting with campaign promotion, and supporting donor engagement strategies. Special Events Fundraising Support: Support annual giving efforts associated with university fundraising events, i.e. the Presidential Black Tie Gala including sponsor engagement, donor outreach, and strategies to increase participation and long-term donor involvement.
  • Donor Outreach, Marketing & Segmentation Annual Giving Marketing & Giving Vehicles: Work closely with University Communications and Marketing to develop and deploy annual giving appeals and marketing materials. Coordinate the creation and maintenance of digital giving forms, crowdfunding projects, and campaign assets. Manage Targeted Donor Segments: Develop and coordinate annual giving initiatives for key donor segments such as faculty and staff, young alumni, parents, and other priority constituencies to increase participation and engagement. Faculty and Staff Giving: Lead the development and implementation of UWG's faculty and staff giving initiatives. Design targeted campaigns that increase participation, promote recurring giving, and encourage long-term philanthropic engagement among university employees. Campaign Analytics & Collaboration: Work closely with Advancement Services, University Communications and Marketing, Data Services, and the Director of Annual Giving to track campaign performance, manage data requests, and evaluate annual giving initiatives. Support Unrestricted Annual Giving Efforts: Assist the Director of Annual Giving in raising unrestricted funds to support university wide priorities. Contribute to the development and execution of strategies that drive broad-based donor participation and flexible philanthropic support.

Required Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 1 or more years of related professional experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, recruiting, business development, or similar field. 2 or more years of related professional experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, recruiting and/or business development. Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with donors, prospects, students, alumni, parents and friends of all ages and backgrounds.

Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge highly desirable. Working knowledge of principles and practices in annual giving. Experience and demonstrated success in soliciting gifts in the $500 range. 2-3 years of fundraising, volunteer management, sales or like field Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CANVA and Raisers Edge. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of individual giving Experience and demonstrated success in soliciting gifts in the $1000 range. Computer literacy and knowledge of Raisers Edge is highly desirable.

Proposed Salary

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form. Ability to represent the University and to work effectively in a team environment with a mix of alumni, friends of UWG, and UWG colleagues. Ability to work on selected weekdays, nights and weekend evenings as required. Well-disciplined, self-motivated and goal-driven; able to work with a high degree of independence as well as part of a team. Ability to appropriately handle confidential matters and information. High energy and passion for UWG's mission is essential.
