Educational And Experience Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in Student Services, Higher Education, Marketing, Public Relations or related field. Four years of experience in a related field or a professional capacity. Experience with a residence life program desirable.
Nature & Purpose Of Position
Plans, organizes, and directs the daily operations and personnel within the Business Operations area of the Department of Residence Life.
Primary Responsibilities
Organizes, develops, and manages the administrative services area of Residence Life. Coordinates visitor housing tours, housing and dining contracts, application fees, assignments and student billing process. Reviews and makes decisions on requests for freshmen required policy exemptions and contract terminations. Oversees hall openings, closings, and breaks. Oversees major housing functions during university events such as registration, orientation and Saturdays at Sam. Acts as a liaison to the Cashier’s Office, Visitor’s Center and other departments. Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, supervises and evaluates support personnel, and supervises student training and development programs in the housing administration area. Compiles and maintains reservation, capacity and occupancy information as well as other administrative statistical data and prepares reports, analyses, evaluations, and proposals. Presents information related to housing and dining to other departments, prospective students, parents and other constituencies. Works directly with students, parents, student groups, organizations, departments, alumni, vendors, and others. Serves on committees. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications
Computer experience necessary. Must possess well developed communicative and interpersonal skills essential to working with individuals or large groups. Working hours may vary as required including occasional evening and week-end work such as hall opening and closing and Saturdays at Sam.
This position may be designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).
