Position Summary:
The Department of Counseling and Educational Development in the School of Education at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro seeks applicants for a part-time, 12-month masters-level counselor for the job of Assistant Director in the departmental Nicholas A. Vacc Counseling and Consulting Clinic (Vacc). The majority of the work will be provided in the Nicholas A Vacc Counseling and Consulting Clinic with some work and tasks occurring at the department level. The person in this position will provide clinical and administrative support within the Vacc Clinic by providing consultation and clinical supervision to counseling students, and by taking the lead on special projects that support the training of students in the Vacc Clinic. Examples include program development, exploring new referral sources on campus and in the greater Greensboro community, developing and fine-tuning Clinic policies and procedures. This position will coordinate record keeping to ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards, provide on-call crisis consultation during the day and/or evening hours, and provide general clinical consultation to counselors-in-training and supervisors-in-training. Additional responsibilities may include managing Clinic staff, collaborating and networking on campus, providing and developing marketing and public relations materials and presentations.
We are seeking a colleague with strong clinical skills, a clear counselor identity, administrative and organizational capacity, the ability to support the clinical training of students, and to work independently on a variety of assignments and tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in counseling from a CACREP accredited program and 2 or more years or direct counseling experience. The ability to receive state licensure (LCMHC).
- State licensure (e.g., LCMHC) is preferred but not required upon application.
- Experience in counseling organization operations, including supervision of trainees or early career counselors, coordination of client care and oversight of clinical and administrative processes.
- Experience in crisis assessment and intervention, including supporting counselors-in-training or early career counselors, implementing safety protocols, and ensuring appropriate documentation and follow-up care.
