Job Summary

Essential Functions
RECRUITMENT (40%):
- Develop extensive knowledge about Smith College and present on-campus and/or virtual information sessions regularly
- Plan and coordinate approximately 6 - 8 weeks of travel annually to recruit students and manage an assigned geographic territory
- Develop knowledge secondary schools throughout in an assigned recruitment territory, visit secondary schools, attend college fairs as assigned
- Initiate and maintain effective communication between Smith College and college counselors from a diverse range of high schools
- Manage correspondence and conversations with students, parents, counselor, community-based organizations and other constituencies
- Contribute to office initiatives as assigned, which may include project-based work under supervisor guidance
- Read, evaluate, and participate in admission committee work to decide on candidate admissibility for admission to the college in coordination with a team of colleagues under the direction of the Dean of Admission.
- Candidates may include first-year applicants, transfer applicants or students applying through Questbridge or Posse programs.
- Attend and facilitate recruitment and yield activities as assigned
- Lead on workshops for prospective and admitted students on campus or virtually as assigned
- Develop skills and connections and pursue professional development opportunities to better understand current issues and challenges in the field of admission and in Higher Education.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 0 to 1 years experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- High comfort level public speaking to small and large groups.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently develop and execute several key projects simultaneously
- Must be able to work independently, have strong organizational and planning skills, and excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical and technological skills including familiarity with MS Office, Google Suite and ability to learn Slate CRM and Workday systems.
- excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work as part of a team, and use sound judgement
- 5 or more years experience in a Higher Education Environment
- Demonstrated interest in admission work including prior work or volunteer experience in an office of admission at a college or university.
- Please note, while the salary range list for this position is wider, the range for this specific position will be $50,000-$55,000 annually.
