Responsibilities
Responsible for managing departmental administrative & human resource functions at the College of Nursing (CON) including employment/recruitment, compensation, classification, and training & staff development.
- Responsible for managing all HR transactional functions for the College of Nursing and its respective schools, centers and institutes. This includes recruiting, hiring, job opening packets, generating offer letters and contracts, I-9’s, onboarding, personnel actions, terminations, funding changes, position description changes/updates, evaluations, benefits, time & leave, family medical leave, workers compensation for CON. Assists new employees with onboarding and monitoring the hiring process to completion.
- Manages active appointment reports, spreadsheets, and payroll cost center reports, ensuring accurate and timely data. Responsible for researching and initiating processes required to correct errors and ensure proper payroll payments. Maintains departmental personnel files in compliance with Federal, State, and University laws, policies, and guidelines. Serves as the primary FACET representative. Maintains departmental personnel files in compliance with Federal, State, and University laws, policies, and guidelines. Looks for ways to improve HR workflow.
- Interprets, recommends and implements policies and procedures with the deans and other management personnel to ensure adherence to federal, state, university, and college laws, rules, policies and business practices. Responsible for ensuring HR compliance at the College of Nursing. Serves as a resource for all Nursing supervisors to ensure they have a good understanding of the University policies and procedures. Guides and advises supervisors through the recruiting process.
- Manages appointment spreadsheets and provides regular rate management staffing reports to college leadership to track faculty and staff rate.
- Serves as liaison with University departments and interacts with University Central Offices in relation to fiscal, human resource, academic personnel, and administrators throughout the College and University. Serves as back-up Purchasing rep, Travel rep, and P-Card proxy the College.
