Typical Duties/Job Duties
Event & Meeting Coordination
- Plan, coordinate, and support college and CDLI events, including advisory council meetings, faculty development activities, and other academic or social functions.
- Arrange college faculty and committee meetings; prepare agendas, record and distribute meeting minutes, and provide administrative support to the Dean and CDLI leadership.
- Track required faculty professional development and training completion for online instruction.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and generate reports as needed.
- Plan and organize work to ensure tasks and functions are completed accurately and meet established deadlines.
- Perform office support activities, including greeting visitors, answering phones, composing routine correspondence, scheduling appointments, and managing office and leadership calendars.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of general office procedures, administrative practices, and support functions.
- Knowledge of academic support operations and higher‑education administrative processes.
- Knowledge of basic business functions, including purchasing, payroll, personnel actions, budgeting, and travel reimbursement.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other required computer systems.
- Skilled in interpersonal relations with the ability to work effectively with supervisors, students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Ability to prepare correspondence, spreadsheets, and routine administrative reports with accuracy and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of progressively responsible administrative support experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Experience in higher education or academic administration is preferred.
