Regional Safety Manager| Charlotte, NC and Fuquay Varina, NC

Safety Leadership That Makes a Difference

At InServ, safety isn't something that happens from behind a desk.

It's built in the field—through good planning, strong relationships, sound judgment, and the willingness to speak up when something isn't right.

We're looking for a Regional Safety Coordinator who can lead safety across multiple projects and earn the trust of the people doing the work. You'll partner with craft employees, Project Managers, Field Safety Coordinators, clients, and InServ leadership to identify risk, solve problems, coach teams, and continuously improve safety performance across your region.

This is a role for someone who is confident without being confrontational, detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture, and comfortable taking ownership without waiting to be told what to do.

When you see a risk, you act.

When you see an opportunity to improve, you pursue it.

And when safety requires a difficult conversation, you're willing to have it.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Lead Safety in the Field

You'll be a visible, trusted safety leader across your assigned region.

  • Coach craft employees, Project Managers, and Field Safety Coordinators in safe work practices and risk awareness.
  • Build credibility through consistent field presence, open communication, and follow-through.
  • Listen to craft employees and advocate for their safety concerns.
  • Identify and address unsafe conditions and behaviors.
  • Respectfully challenge decisions when safety is at risk.
  • Lead by example and reinforce a culture of personal accountability for safety.

Plan for Safety Before the Work Begins

Great safety leadership starts before the crew steps onto the jobsite.

  • Assist project teams with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Lift Plans, and job-specific safety planning.
  • Review client safety requirements and help project teams meet or exceed those expectations.
  • Participate in client meetings and represent InServ on safety matters.
  • Identify potential risks early and work with project leadership to develop practical solutions.

Stay Connected to the Jobsites

You can't lead what you don't see.

  • Conduct a minimum of three HSI audits each week.
  • Complete a minimum of five documented safety observations each week.
  • Visit assigned projects regularly, ensuring jobs without on-site safety personnel are seen at least bi-weekly.
  • Use audits, observations, and field engagement to identify trends and recurring risks.
  • Follow corrective actions through completion.
  • Complete daily reports and required client safety documentation.

Turn Incidents Into Lessons

When something goes wrong, we don't just document it—we learn from it.

  • Lead or assist with incident investigations in partnership with the On-Site Field Safety Coordinator.
  • Identify contributing factors and root causes.
  • Develop practical corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with the Safety Director to create and communicate Lessons Learned.
  • Help project teams apply those lessons across the region.

Lead & Develop the Safety Team

Your impact extends beyond your own work.

  • Supervise, coach, and develop Field Safety Coordinators within the region.
  • Set clear expectations and hold safety personnel accountable for performance and follow-through.
  • Manage regional safety staffing and provide coverage during absences.
  • Verify staffing and timekeeping for safety personnel.
  • Partner with the Regional Safety Manager to establish and track site-specific safety goals.
  • Encourage ongoing technical and professional development.

Communicate & Collaborate

Safety leadership requires influence—not just authority.

  • Maintain regular communication with project teams, clients, and InServ leadership.
  • Attend bi-weekly InServ safety meetings and handover meetings with the Safety Director.
  • Participate in Safety Committee initiatives.
  • Assist with employee orientation and safety training as needed.
  • Share safety trends, concerns, and opportunities with leadership.

WHAT MAKES YOU SUCCESSFUL HERE

We're looking for a safety professional who is confident, practical, consistent, and highly accountable.

Experience & Knowledge

  • Experience leading safety efforts in construction, industrial, pharmaceutical, or similar field environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and applicable industry safety standards, with the ability to translate requirements into practical field practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and influence field teams while building credibility with craft employees, project leadership, and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify unsafe conditions, challenge decisions when necessary, and hold teams accountable while maintaining productive working relationships.
  • Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk, prioritize competing demands, and recommend practical solutions in the field.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple projects and locations, prioritize effectively, and take ownership without requiring close supervision.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through on audits, corrective actions, documentation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both field and leadership audiences.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, or supervising safety personnel.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with clients, operations leaders, project teams, and craft employees.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Certifications

At least one of the following is preferred; multiple certifications are a plus:

  • OSHA 500 / 510
  • CHST – Construction Health & Safety Technician
  • CIT – Construction Industry Trainer
  • ASP – Associate Safety Professional
  • CSP – Certified Safety Professional
  • MSP – Master Safety Professional

TRAVEL

  • Depending on project needs and location, travel within the assigned region is approximately 70% of the regular work schedule.

THE BOTTOM LINE

We're looking for someone who will walk onto a jobsite, earn the team's trust, see what others may miss, and have the confidence to say, "Let's stop and make this right."

At InServ you'll find:

  • A safety team that has a voice

  • A team that learns
