Position Summary
The Research Analyst is the connective tissue between Inquire’s clients and the senior Industry Consultants who shape our research. Sitting within the TMT coverage team, this person owns the full research workflow for client engagements across technology, media, and telecom: identifying the questions that matter, sourcing the right Consultant, designing the conversation, and translating what is said into a sharp, written brief.
Day to day, you will track earnings, filings, and industry developments to anticipate where clients want answers; build and maintain a deep bench of TMT Consultants across sub-sectors such as enterprise software, cloud, cybersecurity, semiconductors, digital media, and telecom; and produce concise, decision-grade outputs that institutional investors can act on. Success looks like consistently high-signal research, trusted Consultant relationships, and clients who return because your work moves at market speed.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with senior Industry Consultants across the TMT sector to extract sector-specific insights, trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Conduct structured interviews and discussions with Consultants on TMT sub-verticals (e.g., semiconductors, SaaS, streaming, data centers, telecom infrastructure, digital advertising).
- Synthesize Consultant perspectives into clear, well-organized briefs and notes for client consumption.
- Identify and recruit relevant Consultants with deep, current expertise across TMT sub-sectors, and maintain the network for repeat engagements.
- Track key developments across the TMT landscape, including earnings releases, earnings calls (concalls), regulatory shifts, and major industry events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to scope client requests and match them with the most relevant Consultant expertise.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in TMT research, equity research, investment research, consulting, or a related market intelligence role.
- Strong familiarity with enterprise software, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, IT services, semiconductors, communications, or broader technology markets.
- Experience conducting or moderating interviews, investor calls, channel checks, or primary research with executives, customers, partners, consultants, or industry specialists.
- Ability to analyze earnings results, investor presentations, transcripts, filings, and industry data to identify the key debates institutional investors care about.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing concise call agendas, consultant bios, event descriptions, or client-facing research materials.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple topics, advisors, calls, and deadlines simultaneously.
Bonus Points
- Prior experience in equity research, investment banking, or management consulting.
- Familiarity with TMT sub-sectors such as semiconductors, cloud infrastructure, digital media, telecom, gaming, or ad-tech.
- Track record of building relationships with senior industry professionals.
- Ability to quickly synthesize earnings calls, 10-Ks, and other financial filings into key takeaways.
Compensation
Base salary range: $100,000 – $110,000 per year, plus a discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. Final compensation is determined by experience, skills, and qualifications.
