Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production & Warehouse Operations Manager to lead daily operations across manufacturing and warehouse functions. This role oversees production performance, warehouse accuracy, safety, quality, labor utilization, and workflow improvement. You will manage mechanical assembly, electro-mechanical assembly, and warehouse operations while ensuring strong coordination with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Product, Engineering, and Logistics.
This position requires a hands-on leader who thrives on the shop floor, drives Lean manufacturing, builds high-performing teams, and puts structure and standard work in place.
Key Responsibilities
Production Leadership
- Oversee daily production for mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly lines.
- Manage and coach production supervisors and assembly teams.
- Convert sales/work order releases into accurate weekly production schedules.
- Maintain takt time, allocate labor, and resolve bottlenecks in real time.
- Achieve on-time delivery targets for stock replenishment and project orders.
Warehouse Management
- Oversee receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and shipping operations.
- Ensure efficient material flow from receiving → warehouse → assembly → shipping.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and root-cause investigations.
- Enforce OSHA safety compliance and warehouse equipment/forklift standards.
- Coordinate incoming QC, vendor return processes, and finish scheduling with Supply Chain.
Quality & Process Control
- Partner with Product QA to maintain high manufacturing quality standards.
- Improve first-pass yield and reduce returns, defects, and cost of poor quality.
- Maintain and update work instructions, travelers, control plans, and checklists.
Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Implement and sustain 5S, Kanban, line balancing, and visual management.
- Establish and enforce standard work across all production and warehouse areas.
- Lead kaizen events and track improvements on EOS scorecards.
- Drive measurable gains in throughput, WIP reduction, labor efficiency, and quality.
Electro-Mechanical Assembly Oversight (Preferred but not required)
- Support ESD-safe handling and PCBA component processes.
- Maintain firmware flashing, commissioning steps, and functional testing.
- Oversee testing procedures for locks, readers, DPS sensors, and gateway hardware.
Systems & Reporting
- Use ERP/MRP (NetSuite preferred) for BOMs, WOs, inventory, and WIP tracking.
- Update dashboards and maintain accurate production and warehouse KPIs.
Qualifications
Required
- 5 years experience managing production or assembly operations.
- 3 years in a leadership role supervising teams of 20–60 .
- Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and daily management systems.
- Experience managing warehouse operations (receiving, picking, cycle counting, shipping).
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred).
- Strong communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on leadership style with consistent shop-floor engagement.
Preferred
- Experience in architectural hardware, mechanical components, or Division 8.
- Exposure to electro-mechanical assembly or PCBA/ESD handling.
- Familiarity with access control devices, firmware flashing, or end-of-line testing.
- Experience working within an EOS/Traction framework (rocks, L10s, scorecards).
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, on-site position in our Sacramento manufacturing facility.
- Daily shop-floor presence expected; office work included for planning and analysis.
- Occasional early or late shifts for rush orders or critical production support.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $84,000.00 - $96,000.00 per year
