What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Production Manager - Full Time position at BuyWander?
Production is the engine of our business, and the Production Manager ensures that the Production Team is processing the right mix of items, accurately, and at a fast enough pace for the company to hit our revenue targets. To make that happen, he/she oversees the Warehouse Operations Lead, who directs Material Handlers to unload trucks, label them correctly, and stage them efficiently.
Next, he/she directs the flow of goods to ensure that the Production Team is always set up with plenty of inventory to process, and that a mix of product is being processed every day. He/She oversees the Production Team Leads, watching to ensure that speed and accuracy are maintained, and warehouse stocking is done quickly and accurately.
The Production Manager works closely with the General Manager to identify problems and create solutions. They offer real-time, on the ground feedback on tech issues and hire and lead a team of high performers to grow our business.
Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Directly supervise and manage Material Handlers, Production Team Members, Warehouse Operations Leads, Production Team Leads, and other staff that may be assigned to you.
- Schedule and assign tasks to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and address any issues or concerns.
- Track speed and accuracy of all team members to ensure KPI’s are being met.
- Oversee hiring, training, discipline, and firing of all team members assigned to you.
- Act as the Person-In-Charge when opening the warehouse each morning, and when other managers are not on duty.
Operational Oversight:
- Continually monitor production output, listing accuracy, the digital processing queue, and put-away quality to ensure auction goals are met.
- Oversee all warehouse activities, including receiving, processing, inventory management, and waste management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Monitor productivity and efficiency, implementing improvements as needed.
- Manage warehouse space and organization to optimize workflow.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness and safety at all times.
Inventory Management:
- Ensure all inventory is staged in correct locations and is properly labeled by Manifest.
- Provide a diverse mix of product to processors each day to maintain a diversity of items on auction.
- Make certain that all new inventory is processed in a timely manner, and close out the manifest.
- Oversee inventory control and accuracy, ensuring regular inventory scans and audits.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with management to maintain a steady and diverse flow of inventory through production.
- Master and implement Buy Wander’s proprietary inventory management system.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Schedule equipment inspections and repairs as needed.
- Maintain a safe working environment and enforce safety regulations.
Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular reports to the General Manager on tech issues, production performance, digital queue status, stockpile levels, staffing levels, warehouse operations and performance.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Address any discrepancies or issues promptly and effectively.
Qualifications:
- Fluent with technology and able to use various computer and phone programs to efficiently accomplish tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
- Forklift certification required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, and reach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, everchanging environment.
Schedule, Wage, & Benefits:
- Full Time, Schedule TBD (Day Shift)
- $25-$30 per hour starting wage, depending on experience
