The Product Safety and Regulatory Toxicology Specialist is responsible for ensuring product safety, regulatory alignment, and toxicology stewardship across the Inolex portfolio. This role supports innovation and commercialization by providing expert guidance on global regulatory requirements, ingredient toxicology, and safety assessment strategies. The Principal Analyst collaborates cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, and Operations and externally with industry forums to enable sustainable growth and maintain regulatory toxicology excellence.
Brief Description
Regulatory Toxicology & Product Stewardship
- Interpret and apply global regulatory requirements (e.g., EU Cosmetics Regulation, REACH, MoCRA, FDA, TSCA, Prop 65) to ensure compliance for new and existing products.
- Prepare and maintain regulatory documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), product certifications, and compliance dossiers.
- Monitor global regulatory trends and emerging ingredient restrictions; communicate implications to internal stakeholders.
- Conduct safety assessments for raw materials and usage in finished goods, including toxicological evaluations and exposure analysis.
- Review and approve product formulations for compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Collaborate with R&D to provide guidance during product development and reformulation projects.
- Partner with Marketing and Sales to provide regulatory insights for product positioning and claims substantiation to support existing portfolio and new ingredients commercialization.
- Support customer inquiries and audits by delivering accurate and timely regulatory information.
- Contribute to strategic planning for regulatory risk management and compliance readiness.
- Stay current on regulatory changes, scientific advancements, and industry best practices.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance compliance efficiency and data integrity.
- Represent Inolex in technical discussions and industry forums as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Deep knowledge of global cosmetic and chemical regulations (EU Cosing, REACH, CSAR, IECIC, TSCA, MoCRA, FDA, CIR, Prop 65, GHS).
- Expertise in toxicology testing guidelines and in silico modeling.
- Sound scientific principles, flexibility and willingness to learn.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and customer engagement.
- Proficiency in safety and regulatory systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology, Regulatory Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7–10 years of experience in product safety, regulatory affairs, or chemical compliance (cosmetics, or specialty chemical industries preferred.)
- Strong knowledge of global regulatory frameworks (EU, US, Asia)

- This position requires on-site presence at an Inolex facility (Philadelphia, PA) at least three days per week to support cross-functional collaboration and engagement with R&D, operations, and product commercialization teams.
- Occasional travel (approximately 10%) is required for internal meetings, customer engagements, and industry conferences.
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment, must be able to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
