REQUIREMENTS:
· 8-10 years of total accounting experience, ideally consisting of 3-5 years in public accounting followed by 3-5 years of hands-on private-sector GAAP accounting (not solely audit-focused), with demonstrated technical accounting expertise and strong command of GAAP principles in practice
· Private sector experience to include working in small to mid-size business (preferably manufacturing or distribution) with full scope accounting and finance responsibilities.
· Experience or demonstrated knowledge and ability to address international accounting challenges in the daily workflows as well as the monthly consolidation process.
· Demonstrated success with team management including direct or indirect oversight leading others collaboratively to achieve resultsProven ability to work within and extract financial data from accounting or ERP systems (any platform — training on company-specific tools will be provided)
· Advanced Excel proficiency, including the ability to manipulate, organize, and analyze large, unstructured, and inconsistently formatted data sets
· Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to reconcile data across multiple disparate systems and identify inconsistencies
· Self-motivated, comfortable operating in ambiguity, and able to take general direction from leadership and independently determine how to execute — this is not a highly structured, heavily documented environment
PLUS SKILLS:
· CPA license
· Prior exposure to an ERP implementation or system migration (any platform)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform day-to-day accounting and finance work in accordance with GAAP across three legal entities operating in different countries and currencies
· Partner directly with the CFO on monthly, quarterly, and annual close, and lead hands-on work supporting multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation
· Support the company's transition from fragmented, Excel-based tracking (and a separate legacy system) to a single unified ERP platform (Odoo), ensuring accuracy and integrity of data throughout the migration
· Extract, organize, and analyze financial data currently housed across disconnected systems and spreadsheets to build clean, reliable reporting
· Evaluate new ERP-generated outputs against actual business data and historical results, identifying and resolving discrepancies before they reach leadership or auditors
· Work closely with current accounting staff to fully understand today's day-to-day processes (which are established but largely undocumented) before helping redesign them for the new system
· Build, document, and implement scalable accounting processes and internal controls to move the business toward full GAAP compliance and audit readiness
· Directly support preparation for the company's first formal GAAP-compliant audit, including gathering support, documentation, and reconciliations
· Serve as a bridge between accounting requirements and system capability — helping determine where the ERP's default processes need to be adapted to fit the realities of the business
· Take on ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as directed by the CFO, with increasing scope and ownership as the finance function matures
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
