REQUIREMENTS
- 10 years of Clinical Data Exchange/Interface experience within a healthcare IT environment including deep hands-on background in the development, maintenance, and operation of application and device data interfaces
- 5 years experience utilizing interface engines, including Corepoint & GlobalScape EFT, working with healthcare IT standards including HL7, FHIR, X12, and DICOM
- 3 years in a management or lead position with prior people management responsibility as this is a hands-on, technical management role (70/30): coordinating deliverables, monitoring workloads, supporting the team, and bridging between technical staff and IT/operational leadership
- Hands on scripting and interface design experience, including working knowledge of UNIX/Linux, Korn/Bash/Shell scripting, Cron jobs, and TCL programming with the ability to recommend and implement HL7, FHIR, XML, JSON, and CCD interface designs
- In-depth understanding of EMR/EHR systems, clinical/financial/registration system integrations, and all compliance and documentation requirements
- Active Epic Bridges certification highly preferred; otherwise, must be able to obtain within 90 days of hire dat

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the data exchange team including workload monitoring, deliverable coordination, performance management, and direct communication with IT leadership
- Coach and develop interface engineers through performance evaluations and a culture of shared technical knowledge across the team
- Guide workflow design decisions and serve as the escalation point for support issues, ensuring the team operates to a defined priority process
- Responsible for the operation of application and device data interface toolsets and environments, ensuring real-time data exchange between clinical, financial, and registration systems
- Maintain the full operation of the Epic Bridges interface toolkit and GlobalScape EFT managed file transfer environment for all data moving into and out of Epic and between internal and external partners
- Lead the development of new application and device interfaces, conducting impact assessments and applying UNIX/Linux scripting and TCL programming to keep interface processes running optimally
- Drive small to medium size projects from intake through delivery, maintaining data flow documentation, serving as technical liaison with software vendors on HL7 issues, and participating in on-call rotation as needed
