What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead HVAC Install Technician (JOB ID 003256) position at Innovien Solutions?
Innovien is supporting an expanding commercial HVAC installation operation in Virginia. We're hiring a Project Technician II to own the core of the install scope: equipment installs, ductwork modifications, replacements, and startup support. You won't run the whole job, but you'll be trusted to work independently on your scope, follow the plan, and flag issues before they become problems. Strong technicians in this seat are the ones who get tapped for the next lead technician opening.
What You'll Do
- Perform standard HVAC equipment installations in line with project plans and specifications
- Complete ductwork modifications, fabrication, and fit up as the job requires
- Execute equipment replacements, from removal of existing units through installation of new equipment
- Assist with equipment startup, including system checks and coordination with startup leads
- Coordinate daily tasks with other technicians on site, maintain accurate material records and job notes, and escalate questions or discrepancies to the lead technician or project manager
What You Bring
- 3 years of hands on commercial HVAC installation experience
- Ability to work with limited supervision on standard installation and replacement tasks
- Working knowledge of ductwork modification and fabrication techniques
- Ability to read basic plans and specifications and follow an installation sequence
- EPA Universal Certification
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (site travel and company vehicle use required)
- Physical ability to lift equipment, work at heights, and perform installation work in varied site conditions
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screen
Nice to Have
- OSHA 10 certification
- Experience assisting with equipment startup and commissioning
- Exposure to building automation systems (BAS) or controls
- Manufacturer specific training (Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin)
- Prior work with national facility services providers
