SENTINEL™ systems are deployed in over 100 underground facilities inside and outside of the United States. In addition to SENTINEL™, the IWT Envōk Sensor Monitoring Network has recently be released to aid with tailings management and remote environmental monitoring and control. Other successful IWT products include the Remote Missile Launch System which is currently being used at Navy and Marine training facilities and the COYOTE Sensor and Communications System™ which has been successfully deployed on both the northern and southern U.S borders.

Job Function
Engineering, Product Development Project Manager
Position Summary
- IWT is seeking a Project Manager for electronics product development, enterprise to embedded software development, research and design, and system installation projects.
- Project durations vary in length and are typically about 10 to 18 months.
- Projects can be internal efforts, external engineering services, government grants, or product installations.
- The Project Manager will work with cross-functional teams of various levels of experience and expertise in a matrix organization.
- The Project Manager will receive training on company technologies, participate in several in-field learning activities, and will develop professional and soft skills to effectively manage projects of myriad shapes and sizes.
- This position is primarily in an office building with engineering teams, but also includes some travel for events such as project and customer meetings.
- The Project Manager is expected to lead in a positive, productive, and profitable manner with care for all personnel and property involved.
Essential Functions
- Manage projects for internal, commercial, and governmental entities.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders, i.e., end-users, subject matter experts, engineers, and executives.
- Manage cross-function hardware and software engineering projects to create new electronics hardware, software, and complete systems from prototypes to market-ready products.
- Work effectively with engineering management and technical leads.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate project details, such as project plans, sequenced activity lists, risks, budgets, and schedules.
- Contribute to proposals for grants, system solutions and sales, and follow-on business.
- Develop budgets with teams, track budget performance, and communicate budget status.
- Lead meetings of various types that may include information gathering, creativity and brainstorming, status, etc.
- Travel at necessary times, such as project kickoff and deliveries, testing and evaluation efforts, and business support meetings (up to 20%)
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- 4 year engineering or technical degree (i.e. EE, ME, CS, MIS).
- At least 2 years of project management experience.
- Contributor for multiple past software and/or hardware engineering projects.
- An effective communicator with many personality types and audience sizes.
- Flexible and adaptable to handling various situations that may unexpectedly arise.
- Must be a US Citizen, not requiring Visa Sponsorship.
- Must be eligible for DoD Clearance.
Desired:
- CAPM, PMP, Google PM, or similar certification.
- Experience with PCB design and manufacturing.
Reasoning Ability:
Candidate must possess the ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Individual must display original thinking and creativity; meeting challenges with resourcefulness in a timely manner.
Willingness to Learn
Given the dynamic nature of today’s wireless landscape, the candidate must be willing to continually learn and embrace new concepts, technologies and design methodologies.,
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, lift, reach, or stoop as needed in a typical office setting.
