Job Role: The Quality Inspector - Electrical is responsible for inspecting electrical assemblies, wiring, and components throughout the manufacturing process. This role ensures that work performed in the electrical department aligns with engineering drawings, applicable standards, and customer expectations. The position plays a key role in identifying defects, supporting root cause analysis, and contributing to process improvements.
Key Duties
- Inspect electrical components, wiring, and assemblies to verify compliance with specifications, drawings, and quality standards.
- Conduct tests such as continuity, insulation resistance, and voltage checks.
- Identify and document defects like improper terminations, incorrect configurations, or loose connections.
- Use precision tools including multimeters, ammeters, and related instruments to confirm tolerances and specifications.
- Document inspection findings, non-conformities, and corrective actions clearly and accurately.
- Collaborate with electricians, engineers, and supervisors to address quality concerns and implement solutions.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain inspection records and ensure traceability of electrical components and work.
- Monitor adherence to electrical procedures and standards.
- Perform in-process inspections during active manufacturing stages.
- Promote and follow established safety protocols in the work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications in electrical work or quality control preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical inspection, electrical work, or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in interpreting electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and ANSI/IEC symbols.
- Experience with electrical testing and inspection tools (e.g., multimeters, insulation testers).
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Capable of clearly documenting and communicating inspection outcomes.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
- Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems.
- Prior experience as an electrician, commercial or industrial background is highly preferred.
