A day in the life
- Kick off by reviewing job orders and blueprints to plan tooling, workholding, and machining steps.
- Set up and run both manual engine lathes and CNC turning centers to produce parts to print.
- Dial in offsets, speeds/feeds, and tooling; monitor cycles and fine‑tune for quality and throughput.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep equipment running reliably.
- Measure, inspect, and document results to ensure parts meet dimensional and surface‑finish requirements.
- Coordinate with teammates to hit production goals and deadlines.
- Keep your station orderly and adhere to all safety procedures.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; a machining certificate/technical diploma is a plus.
- Proven experience operating both manual and CNC lathes.
- Solid grasp of machining fundamentals, turning processes, and best practices.
- Comfort reading engineering drawings, process sheets, and technical specs.
- Hands‑on experience with precision measurement and quality control methods.
- Strong attention to detail, methodical problem solving, and clear communication.
- Team mindset and a willingness to learn new tooling, controls, and methods.
