What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Recovery Peer Advocate position at Innovative Health Systems, Inc?
The Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) will work closely with the patients who have a substance abuse diagnosis. They will serve as a liaison to treatment and other recovery services. CRPA will engage with patients who are considering treatment, need to follow up with treatment referral, bring awareness of services to patients at the facility. The CRPA will also conduct follow up phone calls and track referrals. In addition, the CRPA may also engage with Recovery Center patients to facilitate groups to help link patients to available community resources. Qualifications 1. Education: High School Diploma or GED * Experience: 1 year of employment or training as CRPA in NYS * Training/Certification: CRPA certification through ASAP-NYS * Other: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Coordinate services for patients to ensure they have proper follow up care after emergency department visit to inpatient or outpatient program or other recovery related community based services. Effective writing skills and documentation. Strong knowledge of tools developed through CRPA training in order to apply as necessary to substance abuse patients. Interface with recovery center patients and staff to provide peer support to enhance treatment experience and encourage sobriety and engagement in recovery resources
