Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA)

Lexington Center for Recovery, the Hudson Valley’s largest provider of outpatient and residential substance use disorder services, is seeking a Full-Time Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) for our Mount Kisco location.

Job Description

The Certified Recovery Peer Advocate provides peer support services to individuals receiving substance use disorder and/or mental health services. The CRPA works with clients in both community and clinic settings to provide care coordination, transportation assistance, recovery support, and peer services.

The CRPA works individually with clients to develop recovery plans, provides ongoing recovery support, and facilitates peer support groups. Lived experience and experience working a behavioral health setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide peer support services to individuals receiving substance use disorder and/or mental health services.
• Work with clients in the community and clinic setting to provide support and assistance.
• Provide care coordination and transportation services as needed.
• Work individually with clients to develop individualized recovery plans.
• Provide ongoing recovery support and encouragement.
• Facilitate peer support groups.
• Assist clients in identifying and accessing appropriate community resources and services.
• Establish supportive and professional relationships with clients while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational and program requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with Lexington Center for Recovery policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) certification required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Lived experience with substance use and/or mental health challenges required.
• Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders required.
• Successful completion of all applicable OASAS background check and clearance requirements.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bilingual/Spanish-speaking skills are a plus but not required.
