JOB TITLE: Quality Assurance Technician
DESCRIPTION: The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for creating and preparing the proper quality paperwork associated with products supplied to customers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Quality Team to develop and determine product quality standards
- Record and maintain inspection reports and documentation
- Ensure compliance to federal and state laws as well as company standards and specifications
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment
- Perform inspections across all stages of production
- Prepare and maintain test data for review
- Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards
- Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
- Prepare and package samples for testing, retention, and sales
- Assist with functions of the R&D and QC lab as needed
- Participate actively in internal auditing programs and CAPA reports
- Prepare, edit, and maintain product specifications
- Record COA test results and methods for accurate reporting to customers
- Maintain supplier verification program to ensure we are following FSVP requirements
- Review, log, and file records, including production records
- Work closely with production to correct and complete records as necessary
- Have an understanding of the SQF Food Safety Code: Food Manufacturing and the requirements to implement and maintain an SQF System relevant to the site's scope of certification
REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE:
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Food Manufacturing background preferred
* 1-2 years of experience in Quality Assurance
* SQF and HACCP certification preferred
* Solid understanding of test equipment
* Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios, and proportions
* Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
* Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
* Precise and accurate record keeping
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Excellent organizational skills
* Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
