What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at SeaBear?
SeaBear Smokehouse is looking for an individual to join our Quality Assurance team. Our Quality Control Technician plays a vital role in ensuring that products meet the highest standards of accuracy, consistency, and reliability. This position is responsible for monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, and identifying areas for improvement to maintain compliance with internal guidelines and industry regulations. The ideal candidate brings a sharp eye for detail, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams to uphold the organization’s quality expectations.
This role is located at our Production Facility in Anacortes, WA and will report to our Quality Assurance Manager. This is an onsite, full-time, year-round role, Monday through Thursday, 430am – 3pm (4days/10hr workdays)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality control, HACCP and SSOP monitoring on the production line and throughout the plant on a routine basis in accordance with the company’s food safety and quality programs
- Assists in company’s ability to maintain excellent ratings on all inspections; internal or external
- Responsible for conducting the Daily & Weekly Inspections
- Accurate record keeping & reporting
- Calibrating thermometers and sanitizing foamer equipment and keeping accurate records for of these.
- Inspecting storage areas for pests and exterior grounds
- Monitoring and taking corrective action when needed of:
- Cooler and freezer temps
- Covering of cuts and/or lesions, along with handwashing techniques and other sanitation practices
- Jewelry and other loose personal items not being worn or taken into processing areas
- Allergen storage
- in-coming products
- Any other tasks related to Quality Assurance assigned by the QA Manager
Requirements:
- Attention to detail
- Accurate record keeping
- Ability to follow written and verbal instruction
- Ability to think and work in numbers
- HAACP training/knowledge a plus
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for up to 2hrs at a time - lift and move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Full range of motion for frequent pushing, pulling, twisting, stooping, reaching, grasping and repetitive movements
- Stability to stand and walk on wet production floors
- Fine finger & manual dexterity using both hands in order to inspect and manually move or place product
- This position does require working in and out of temperatures ranging from 18° F to 80°F.

- Pay Rate: $20-$22/hr., DOE
