Who You Are
You are an outgoing, organized, roll-up-your-sleeves HR leader who gets energized by people and volume—not drained by it. You’re the type who can do 15–25 interviews a week, onboard 10–20 new hires at a time (with help from our virtual assistant in the Philippines), and still have the bandwidth to walk the yard, high-five drivers, and solve problems on the spot.
You’re not afraid of a lean budget or a fast-paced environment. You’ve cut your teeth in high-turnover industries (retail, hospitality, logistics, staffing, or another DSP) and you’re ready to bring real HR structure without the corporate fluff.
What You’ll Do Every Week
- Conduct 15–25 interviews (mostly in-person)
- Own the full onboarding pipeline with our Philippines-based VA
- Prepare and audit payroll timecards (we use ADP Workplace Now)
- Respond to unemployment claims and garnishments quickly and accurately
- Be the friendly, approachable face of HR—celebrating wins, help coach drivers, and making sure people feel seen
- Run employee engagement events, tuition-reimbursement workshops, safety shout-outs, etc.
- Keep everything organized in Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Forms, Planner, Excel—you name it)
- Partner with operations leadership to “fail fast” with poor fits and protect our culture
- Continually improve processes because “good enough” isn’t in your vocabulary
Must-Haves
- 2 years of real HR or recruiting experience in a high-volume, high-turnover environment
- Hands-on experience with payroll, unemployment claims, and garnishments
- Proven ability to manage remote/virtual support staff
- Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft 365 skills
- Extroverted personality—you enjoy talking to 50 drivers a day
- Thick skin and a sense of humor (logistics is chaos and we embrace it)
- Alignment with our mission of building futures; you get excited when a driver tells you they just enrolled in nursing school because of the tuition benefit
