About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electricians with a Journeyman Electricians License and at least 5 years of experience in the construction and integration of Power Distribution Center (PDC) buildings. This role involves working with medium voltage equipment, low voltage motor control centers, UPS systems, and PLC-based automation systems in a fast-paced industrial environment serving the energy sector.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in building and installing complete electrical systems from the ground up within industrial control buildings.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and terminate electrical equipment within Power Distribution Center (PDC) buildings
- Install and work with medium voltage switchgear and power distribution equipment
- Install and wire 480V Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- Install and integrate UPS systems and battery backup systems
- Install and wire PLC panels, control cabinets, and automation systems
- Run and install cable tray systems and electrical conduit (EMT, RMC, and flexible conduit)
- Pull, route, and terminate power and control wiring
- Perform proper equipment grounding and bonding
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
- Assist with system checkout, commissioning, and startup
- Maintain compliance with NEC, safety standards, and company quality procedures
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other trades to ensure project completion
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician License (Texas preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience
- Direct experience with Power Distribution Center (PDC) construction
- Experience installing and wiring:
- Medium Voltage Switchgear
- 480V Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- UPS systems
- PLC control systems
- Strong experience with cable tray installation, conduit bending, and wire pulling
- Ability to terminate power and control wiring
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong understanding of NEC codes and industrial electrical standards
- Ability to work safely in industrial environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in oil & gas, energy, or industrial automation environments
- Experience with control panel wiring and automation systems
- Familiarity with SCADA or DCS control systems
- Experience working on skid-mounted or modular electrical buildings
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work on ladders, lifts, and in industrial environments
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with tools for extended periods
