Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Community Trainer for our Jasmine Site to lead educational and developmental initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a background in instructional support, adult education, and life skills coaching. This specific location serves individuals with higher medical support needs; therefore, the role requires a candidate who is comfortable providing compassionate, hands-on physical assistance alongside traditional vocational and social training.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Delivery: Implement personalized Community Training Plans (CTPs) to facilitate client growth and skill acquisition.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate, professional, and timely records of client progress and needs; ensure all data reflects the highest standards of clinical and administrative integrity.
- Professional Representation: Serve as a positive ambassador for the organization, maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions with clients, families, social workers, and community partners.
- Direct Care Support: Provide essential hands-on assistance, including support with feeding, toileting, and basic physical needs, ensuring the dignity and comfort of all participants.
- Collaborative Engagement: Actively participate in staff meetings and interdisciplinary client reviews to optimize service delivery.
- Operational Excellence: Organize and prioritize multiple tasks independently while contributing to a cohesive, respectful team environment.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience (professional or personal) working with individuals with developmental disabilities (please note, dementia, Alzheimers, or other late onset disorders/conditions, do not qualify) or in a community-based instruction role.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word) for documentation and reporting.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
- Problem Solving: A proactive approach to challenges, utilizing creative educational strategies and behavioral support best practices.
- Certification: Valid in-person CPR/First Aid certification required. (The company provides and funds renewals post-hire).
- Attributes: Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and a commitment to the principles of inclusion and person-centered care.
