Duties

• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot various food production machinery including baking ovens, mixers, conveyors, and packaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow detailed manufacturing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and quality in food production processes.
• Conduct sanitation procedures regularly to uphold strict hygiene standards in accordance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and other safety protocols.
• Handle raw materials and finished products manually or with material handling equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper storage and movement within the facility.
• Perform routine mechanical troubleshooting on equipment issues, escalating complex repairs to maintenance teams when necessary.
• Adhere strictly to safety standards by using personal protective equipment (PPE), following safety protocol guidelines, and participating in safety training sessions.
• Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, quality checks, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of food production processes including cooking, baking, and food handling techniques.
• Mechanical knowledge related to machine operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.
• Familiarity with sanitation practices and food safety management systems like HACCP and GMP.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and material movement using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
• Basic math skills for measuring ingredients, adjusting recipes, or recording data accurately.
• Experience with regulatory/legal compliance standards in food manufacturing environments.
• Kitchen or culinary experience that demonstrates familiarity with food preparation and knife skills is a plus.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills to quickly identify issues and implement solutions during production shifts.
