What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Math Teacher position at Innovation Academy Charter School?
Innovation Academy Charter School seeks a full-time high school Math teacher for the upcoming school year. Successful candidates will be passionate learners and collaborators who are committed to the school’s mission and invested in the academic and social-emotional learning of all students. Our school has a close-knit community of teachers, students, administration, and parents. Teachers serve as advisors to a group of 12-13 students each year, building strong relationships with students outside of the academic classroom.
Ideal candidates will be prepared to teach Algebra and Geometry through Calculus and/or Statistics.Teachers are responsible for creating a classroom environment that helps each student develop a solid understanding of the concepts explored and an appreciation of the use of mathematics in everyday life and the world around us.
IACS seeks to serve all students within an academically rigorous and culturally responsive community of learners. Math teachers at IACS use a combination of prepared curriculum and teacher-developed units to build math skills and engage students in practical applications of their learning through projects designed to challenge students to become critical thinkers, collaborative problem-solvers, and self-directed learners.
Situated in Tyngsboro, MA (near the intersection of routes 3 and 495), IACS draws a diverse student body from neighboring districts, including Lowell, Dracut, and Chelmsford, as well as Tyngsboro. Our community represents 19 languages spoken, 38% students of color, 25% of students on special education plans, and a community of students and staff that identify as LGBTQ.
