RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
• Drive new enterprise business development through outbound selling techniques, including relationship development, direct sales calls, networking, and trade shows
• Develop sales strategy
• Communicate effectively and strategically in outreach efforts
• Drive sales and new business opportunities
• Research, prospect, identify, and pursue potential client contacts
• Meet or exceed established quarterly and annual revenue goals
• Maintain active knowledge of market supply and demand, changing trends, and competitor activities
• Attend networking meetings, including Brand Innovators, Adweek, ANA, Adweek, WISE, FQ, MPI, ILEA, NACE, SITE, and DMC Roundtable. Membership and meeting fees are covered by the company
• Oversee and assist with custom proposal development
• Attend planning meetings with clients
• Assist with program development and design
• Participate in new business brainstorming
• Contribute to Business Development meetings
• Report progress to management and suggest improvements
• Manage a small team
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
• A strong storyteller who avoids overly sales-focused pitches
• Comfortable saying, “Bad events are a choice.”
• Someone who shows up and follows up
• A closer who understands client pain points and develops strategic solutions
• At least 5 years of experience selling professional services, preferably in events, hospitality, experiential marketing, or agency environments
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets
• Motivated by performance-based bonus compensation
• Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
• Skilled in consultative selling and asking probing questions to identify core needs
• Thrives in a sales-driven culture
• Technical proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, Google Drive, Dropbox, Canva, Zoom, and related tools
• Comfortable with email, phone, and in-person communication
• Highly organized
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Interested in working in a startup-style environment
• Event and marketing industry experience preferred
