Position Summary:
The Senior Business Development Manager leads strategic growth initiatives by identifying, evaluating, and executing new business opportunities. This role combines healthcare strategy, financial analysis, and project management to support clinic expansion, new service lines, acquisitions, and physician recruitment initiatives. The position works closely with physicians, executive leadership, and cross-functional teams to develop compelling business cases and drive approved initiatives from concept through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities, including service line expansion, physician recruitment, clinic expansion, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and lead generation to support business development efforts
- Develop detailed financial models, pro formas, ROI analyses, and business cases for leadership review
- Present strategic recommendations and investment analyses to executive and physician leadership
- Lead cross-functional planning and execution of approved initiatives, ensuring timelines, milestones, and budget goals are met
- Track performance metrics and ROI of implemented initiatives and report outcomes
- Facilitate collaboration across physicians, finance, operations, and leadership teams
- Support negotiations and evaluations related to partnerships and acquisition opportunities
- Identify risks or barriers and proactively drive solutions to ensure project success
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree (MBA/MHA) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare business development, strategy, finance, consulting, or healthcare operations
- Strong financial modeling, cost analysis, and business case development skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and influence decision-making at senior and physician leadership levels
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven project management experience with ability to see initiatives through from concept to completion
- Comfortable working with strong personalities; confident, independent thinker—not a “yes” person
Preferred Experience
- Healthcare or medical group (multi-specialty or physician-owned) experience
- Healthcare consulting or corporate development background
- Experience partnering with physicians and executive teams
- Project Management certification (PMP) a plus
Work Environment
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Extensive computer use for financial and data analysis
- Occasional travel required for site evaluations or strategic planning
