What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at INNIS ARDEN GOLF CLUB INC?
The Food and Beverage Server is responsible for taking food and beverage orders, requesting these orders from the appropriate station and delivering the finished order back to the member or quest in an efficient and technically correct manner. Courtesy, cleanliness, interest and proficiency with food and beverage service skills are necessary to provide members and their guests with an enjoyable dining experience.
Summary of essential job functions
-Performs assigned side duties including opening, closing and routine cleaning.
-Remains in the assigned serving area and pays immediate attention to guests when seated.
-Assist in greeting guests, seating guests and distributing menus in the absence of the host/hostess, manager or receptionist.
-Takes orders and enters into POS terminal according to proper procedure.
-Tasks cocktail orders according to established procedures.
-Delivers finished food or beverage product to the member according to established food and beverage procedures.
-Attends to members’ and guests’ needs throughout the meal service.
-Clears tables by using trained procedures and methods.
-Completes the billing and chit process according to established procedure, audits bill to check food and beverage charges are correct; Closes out daily shift on POS.
-Keeps work area and side station clean, sanitary and orderly.
-Attends pre-meal meetings and understands preparation of all menu items. Is directly responsible for knowing the preparation details of all food served.
-Advises supervisor of any complaints as soon as they occur.
-Assists other workers in the completion of their tasks, if needed.
-Adheres to state law and Club policy regarding the serving of alcoholic beverages to minors and adults.
-Assists management with enforcing the established standards of dress, cell phone use and other Club rules for members and guests.
-Reports and delivers any lost and found items to the receptionist.
-Follows directives and completes assignments with a minimum of supervision.
-Attends and actively participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
-Adheres to all Club policies including the work/break schedule, electronic device and uniform policies. Signs and accepts policies presented in employee handbook.
-Performs all work according to established procedures, with emphasis on safety.
-Avails him/herself, to the best of his/her abilities to directly assist in the furtherance of member satisfaction. Always maintains a friendly, hospitable, and helpful attitude with all members, guests and fellow employees.
-Any other duties assigned by management including but not limited to private event set ups and break down and glass and silverware inventories.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently. Effective oral communication skills are essential.
• Possesses basic math skills and have the ability to operate POS computer.
• Of legal age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages in the state of CT.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Frequent bending, squatting, lifting and turning required.
• Frequent lifting of heavy objects.
• Occasionally exposed to wet, humid, hot conditions during outdoor events.
• Continuous repetitive motions.
